Your Journey Begins - Day 1
Upon your arrival at the airport, Luxe Travel insiders will be greeted and accompanied by a local representative for the rest of your enchanted journey. It begins with a drive to the capital of Bhutan, Thimphu.
Enjoy a light lunch at the lodge to acclimatize while savoring the mesmerizing view of Thimphu valley and the great Buddha Dordenma. Enjoy a visit in Zorig Chusum, a National Institute of Arts and Crafts that immerses Luxe Travel Insiders in an artistic environment that displays sculpting, painting, embroidery, gold and silversmithing and carving. Continue your journey to Thimphu Dzong (fortress), the throne room of the head of Druk Desi (the Dragon King). Enjoy dinner at the lodge to end the day.
Making of Bhutanese Handmade Paper for Manuscripts - Day 2
Your journey starts by a visit to Pangri Zampa Lhakhang, which is a 16th century monastic school of astrology that learns basic anecdotes about Zhabdrung, the unifier of Bhutan.
Carry on with a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum to gain some insights of the old days of Bhutanese by the recreated settings of traditional house. After a local lunch, Luxe Travel insiders will explore Thimphu’s cottage industry of paper making in the Paper Factory which shows the method of Bhutanese handmade paper for manuscripts and prayer books that has passed down for many generations. Visit the world largest Buddha statues - Buddha Dordenma at a much closer view. Relax at the lodge before dinner.
Blessing To Ward of Evil Spirit - Day 3
The dazzling sunrise ignites the colour of Thimphu while you enjoying your hearty breakfast at the lodge’s Apple Shed. Luxe Travel Insiders will receive prayers and blessings from the Six Senses Resident Monk at the Prayer Pavilion. Enjoy a one-hour drive to Paro Valley which offers picturesque landscape to savor.
After lunch, you will head to Paro National Museum which displays a collection of ancient and modern thangkas and a heritage gallery of a collection of festival masks for tshechu dance and unique relics. Continue the journey by visiting the well-known Rinpung Dzong, translated as a “fortress with heaps of jewels”, a Bhutanese structure to overlook the Paro valley where were used for government administrative office. Cross the Paro Chhu (river) via Nyamai Zampa (traditional cantilever bridge) to Paro town. Have a taste of archery and challenge the locals! Complete today’s journey with a Bhutanese dinner.
Enjoy a Scenic Hike to Jele Dzong - Day 4
Start your day with an energy-boosting breakfast and a hike to Jele Dzong, a fortress that built on a ridge back for conveniently travel between Paro and Thimphu. Savor the stunning view of the northern mountain which nomads and yak herders are frequent visitors. After a light picnic lunch, you will return to the lodge and may chill out by the pool. When the light of the day drains away, enjoy an Indian dinner and relax on a starry night.
Enjoy a Scenic Hike to The Tiger's Nest - Day 5
After a good night sleep, begin your day with a hike to a landmark and a cultural icon of the Kingdom, Taktsang Goemba (monastery), known as Tiger’s Nest which is on a sheer cliff face above Paro valley. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Pine forest that is capped with moss and embellished with colourful prayer flags. A relaxing picnic lunch could be followed by last-minute shopping. Luxe Travel Insiders will visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, a 7th century sanctuary, referred to as the treasure in the eyes of historians and art connoisseurs. Enjoy a dinner by the stone ruins of a 12th century dzong dressing in traditional Bhutanese attire. Luxe Travel Insiders can experience an authentic Bhutanese royalty meal with live musicians and private folk dances in an enchanting atmosphere.
